Women dominating on music world

Rihanna has insisted that Lady GaGa, Katy Perry, BeyoncĂ© and she are the women who are currently dominating the pop music scene. The singer, who finished up the US leg of her ‘Loud’ tour on Sunday, said that it is “exciting” so many female stars are topping the charts and selling more records than their male contemporaries.

‘’There’s a pack. It’s me, GaGa, Katy Perry, BeyoncĂ©... who else? Ke$ha for sure,” she told Glamour magazine. “Women are definitely dominating music right now, and that’s because we are competitive beings. I feel like music hasn’t been this exciting in a while.” She added: “All my friends are guys, to be completely honest. But when I met [Katy Perry], it was such a breath of fresh air.

I just couldn’t believe this chick had no edit button... Katy and Lady GaGa came out of the gate exactly the way they think, the way they wanna dress, the way they wanna speak.’’ The 23-year-old recently revealed that ‘Cheers’ will be the sixth single to be lifted from her multi-million-selling Loud album.

Katy Perry was bullied at school over breasts

Katy Perry has claimed that she was always bullied at school because she had big breasts from a young age.

Perry said that she was often called names because of her figure, and pointed out the irony of now being thought of as a sex symbol.

"In middle school they called me 'over the shoulder boulder holder'," Perry tweeted. "Now they call me hot."

Despite the fact that she was teased, Perry previously admitted that she had often prayed to have big breasts.

"I remember really vividly kneeling by my bed as a 9-year-old, saying my prayers, and asking God to give me boobs that were so big that if I laid on my back I wouldn't be able to see my feet," Perry said. "Eventually that request was granted."

Earlier this month, Perry became the first artist to remain in the US Billboard Hot 100 top ten for 52 consecutive weeks.

Katy Perry named 'Sexiest Woman for 2011'

Katy Perry has been named the 'Sexiest Woman for 2011'.

The 'I Kissed A Girl' singer, who is currently touring around Australia, beat Jennifer Hawkins and Miranda Kerr to top the Aussie version of FHM's annual list.

Perry told Perth Now: "That's amazing. I won? Really? Wow I can't believe it. I don't know what the criteria is for this award, but I endorse it wholeheartedly."

Others celebrities who made the list included Ruby Rose, Delta Goodrem, Rachael Finch, Megan Gale, Jesinta Campbell and Erin McNaught.

The Royal Family's latest addition - the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton - came in at 98. Today presenter Lisa Wilkinson was given the number 99 spot, while Helen Mirren made her debut in 96th place.

Mirren said: "It's flattering of course and I will accept that. But I hate the pressure that women put on other women constantly. I don't like the pressure men put on women even worse, but it really makes me angry when women put pressure on other women. You know, stop! Stop it!"

Perry recently came second in the 'Sexiest Woman In The World' list for the UK version of the men's magazine. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was awarded first place.

NEW YORK: Katy Perry's "E.T.," featuring Kanye West, spent a second week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart on Thursday, bolstered by the premiere of its effects-heavy video a week ago.

Rihanna's "S&M" was also unchanged, at No. 2, while the Black Eyed Peas' "Just Can't Get Enough" rose two to No. 3. Cee Lo Green's "F**k You (Forget You)" at No. 4 and Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" at No. 5 each slipped one place.

Katy Perry unveils 'E.T' music video

Katy Perry has unveiled the music video for her latest single 'E.T'.

The singer teased fans via her Twitter page ahead of its premiere by asking: "Are you ready for abduction?" before posting the clip on YouTube.

The promo sees the star hurtling through space towards a destroyed planet Earth and turning a robot into a human.

Kanye West, who also features in the clip and the radio edit of the track, tweeted at the star: "Congrats friend, we did it! #sweet."

Discussing the song, Perry said in a press release: "The main gist of the song is that it is a metaphor about finding someone who is just obviously not from this world because how could they love me like this?

"Even though it is a metaphor, I'm very interested in all things futuristic. I mean, I complain every day that the hoverport has not been invented. I think it's absolutely ridiculous."

'E.T' marks Perry's fourth consecutive number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and currently sits at 18 on the UK chart.

Twilight, Katy Perry among People's Choice winners

LOS ANGELES: "Twilight" again stole the limelight at the People's Choice awards on Wednesday, on a night that also saw big wins for singer Katy Perry and actor Johnny Depp at the start of the Hollywood awards season.

Organizers said a record 175 million votes were cast on social media and on the Internet for the favorite stars of television, movies and music in an awards show that is totally fan-driven.

Despite being the earliest of Hollywood's glittering awards shows, the People's Choice picks gave few clues this year to the likely winners of industry-voted honors such as the Oscars or the Screen Actors Guild honors.

"The Twilight Saga; Eclipse" the third installment of the popular vampire romance, won for favorite movie and favorite drama. "Twilight" star Kristen Stewart beat veterans like Julia Roberts, Angelina Jolie and Julia Roberts to take the favorite movie actress trophy .

"I can't believe this. You guys are unreal! For movie number 3 already?" said "Twilight" actor Taylor Lautner, accepting the trophies. "Twilight" and its cast are not expected to be among Oscar nominees when they are announced on Jan 25.

"Alice in Wonderland" star Johnny Depp took home the favorite movie actor trophy for the second year running.

Television honors went to musical comedy "Glee" and its scheming cheerleader played by Jane Lynch, while medical drama "House" picked up trophies for best drama and best actress for Lisa Edelstein.

The remake of "Hawaii Five-O" and the Twitter inspired comedy "$#*! (Bleep) My Dad Says" won for favorite new TV shows.

Katy Perry, whose infectious pop hits "California Gurls" and "Teenage Dream" dominated the charts last year, picked up trophies for favorite female artist and favorite web celebrity, beating the flamboyant Lady Gaga. "I've had an incredible year!," she told the audience.

Taylor Swift, whose "Speak Now" album was one of the biggest sellers of 2010, won best country artist. Swift's award was presented by singer Sir Elton John, a new parent with his partner David Furnish. "Elton! Congrats to you! You're a dad now," Swift told him, before thanking her own fans.

More than 44 awards were given out including one for best talk show host to comedian Conan O'Brien. O'Brien started 2010 by being forced out of his job on "The Tonight Show" and ended it by launching his own show on cable channel TBS.

"I want to thank everyone who made what could have been a horrible year into the best year of my life," O'Brien said.

I have sexual magic tricks

Kathy Perry has explained the sexual "magic tricks" she performs on husband Russell Brand.

The 'Firework' singer, who married the comedian in October, revealed that she employs many special techniques to ensure that Brand is always surprised and satisfied.

She told Grazia: "I have secrets and magic tricks, of course. I can't share them because then you'd all know. But let's just say I'm not shy. And I never wear sweats. Ever."

However, Perry admitted that the couple struggle to break free from their hectic schedules and are planning a move to London in order to obtain more quality time together.

"We're both busy but this is a huge part of my life. I call the shots on my schedule. I put in breaks. There are weekends for Russ and weekends for me and my friends. Neither of us ever wants to lose ourself or the other in fame," she said.

"We have a place together in America but we want to find somewhere here. I want a British passport."
